This trail network is maintained for snowmobiles so in non-snowy seasons it makes for a very stroller friendly and easy walk. Head to the Hollis/Milford line on Federal Hill Rd and you will see dirt parking areas on both sides of the road. The trailhead is by the lot on the west side of the road.
My favorite destination here is the Field of Flowers on Michaela’s Way. It is an open wildflower field designed as a place for peaceful reflection. If you have small kids it is the perfect distance from the parking lot to stop for a snack and some exploring before heading back.
Michaela's Way: Field of Flowers
- Start out from the trailhead in the parking lot on the west side of the road.
- The first fork in the trail is in an open field. Go left.
- The next fork in the trail is at a bench. Go right.
- You've reached your destination when you see picnic tables and hear wind chimes.
