Barrington Community Playground

The Barrington Community Playground was a wonderful experience all around. There is a fresh and shiny newness about it along with many unique modern features. It is worth a special trip!

There are two main play structures with interactive features and cool slides, one is aimed at kids over 5 and the other is aimed at the younger set. There is a set of baby swings and a set of regular swings along with one accessible style swing.

One of my favorite features on the large play structure was what looked like a tunnel slide but was actually a climbing wall inside. It certainly satisfies that “climb up the slide” desire and was also a little easier to do than the classic vertical climbing wall on the other side.

A climber’s playground

This playground is a climber’s paradise with a toddler-sized classic dome climber, a larger version for the bigger kids and all kinds of open ended shapes and boxes to be navigated. There is a four person rocker, a fun spinning contraption and a big seesaw contraption. Another nice touch is a wooden “Country Store” which seems to be a nod to a past version of the playground.

Make a Day of it!

Just two minutes down the road is the Winnie the Pooh trail. Add some nature time with some playground time and you’ve got the whole day sorted!
