Explore the Battle Road Trail in the Minute Man National Historical Park! This 5 mile trail is walk-able, bike-able and stroller friendly. The path is mostly dirt with some paved sections, but it is wide, flat and well maintained. The trail has lots of parking lots along the way, making it easy to access different sections.
Be prepared with hats, water, bug repellent and sunscreen. The trail varies between full sun exposure and shady walks in the forest.
As you walk, bike or stroll, it is easy to absorb the history and learn about the start of the American Revolution. There are informational boards throughout, historic landmarks like the Paul Revere capture site, historical homes and living history presented by the park staff.
Visitor Center at the Minute Man National Historical Park
The park’s visitor center has a large parking lot with easy access to the trail. This is also the place to find more information about the American Revolution, Park programs or events, and find bathrooms. There are even some nice open grassy areas for a picnic lunch. It should be noted that the lot is a short walk away from the actual building and GPS can get confused. You want to turn into the lot from RT 2A, not Airport Rd.

Make a Day of It!
The Mommy, UP! team headed into downtown Concord for lunch. We parked in the parking lots behind the Concord Visitor Center – which also has bathrooms – and walked up to Main Streets Market and Cafe for some take out sandwiches and smoothies. We ate at the picnic tables outside of the visitor center but the cafe looked to have plenty of outdoor, covered seating in the back as well. After our morning on the Battle Road Trail, we appreciated the short distance between the car, a stroll down Main St and the cafe.
