Keyes Playground

A very popular spot, Keyes is a go-to playground for many thanks to the variety of activities in this spot. The playground is large and spacious leaving lots of room to run around and explore!

Right down the street from the center of town is Milford’s Keyes Memorial Park. A go-to spot for many, it has lots of great features to keep you busy on a fun day out. Close to the Milford Oval and a few schools, the space can get busy in those after school hours with school-aged kids. The park is also home to multiple fields so during game season, expect the parking lot to be in demand!

The main structure is separated from the parking area by a fence. It is very large with lots of different balancing, climbing and sliding opportunities. There are a lot of options that allow kids of various ages to figure out what pieces they can or can’t do.

toddler friendly slide at keyes memorial park in Milford, NH

For example, I watched one little guy who would have been much more at home on the toddler structure but he wanted to hang with the big kids. Most of the platforms and ladders were barriers to entry until he found these stairs. He slowly and carefully made his way up the stairs and down the tube slide over and over again, very proud of himself. Structures like this are some of my favorites for this reason!

Keyes Playground: Toddler Friendly

There is also a separate toddler structure. In the photo above, the blue slide drops them off low to the ground. Your tiny littles will be able to manage themselves over here. The green slide is more of a drop, you’ll be on catching duty!

Keyes Playground: Large playspace

The actual space at Keyes is very spread out. It is cohesive and doesn’t seem huge until kids are suddenly really far away from each other! If you want a large space for a group to be able to run around without everyone being crowded onto one thing, this is a great option!

climbing wall at keyes playground

Much to my delight, Keyes playground is home to an old school merry-go-round! You will also find some old-school freestanding monkey bars, see saw, a sandbox and a different style climbing wall.

picnic pavillion at keyes playground

Right off to the side of the playground is a large picnic pavilion. About half the picnic tables are covered by the roof and the rest are shaded by a lovely pergola. Off to the side of the picnic tables is this old truck climbing structure. Many an imaginary journey has been taken on this truck!

It’s got a little dose of nature, too!

Nature at Keyes memorial park in Milford

Off to the side of the playground and behind the tennis courts, there is a bridge that connects to a nature trail managed by the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley across the river. Even if you crew isn’t interested in a nature walk, the bridge is fun to check out! There are both stairs and a ramp on the playground side to get up to the bridge.
